Labor’s Shadow Minister for ICT & Innovation, Madeleine Ogilvie, has joined the call for the updated NBN rollout plan to include all of Tasmania.
Ms Ogilvie shares the concerns of Labor Senator Catryna Bilyk.
“Malcolm Turnbull has an obligation to include all of Tasmania in his updated rollout plan. Senator Bilyk is right to say it’s just not good enough.
“Many Tasmanian suburbs are not on the current map.
“This is a huge broken promise after the Liberals guaranteed a full fibre-to-the-home rollout in the lead up to the 2013 election.
“Now we know around 85,000 Tasmanian premises will receive an inferior fibre-to-the-node connection. Our small businesses deserve better.
“It’s time Will Hodgman applied some pressure to his Liberal colleagues in Canberra, instead of being eerily silent over the NBN. “
