Independent Senator for Tasmania Jacqui Lambie has sent from Hospital a brief message to her former PUP colleague Glenn Lazarus who has resigned from the party to sit as an independent crossbench Senator.
Senator Lambie will remain in hospital for a few days after a minor surgical procedure on her back.
“I’m looking forward to leaving hospital soon, however the Doctors don’t want me flying anywhere. It means that I’ll most likely miss being physically at the sitting next week of the Australian Senate.” said Senator Lambie.
“My staff and I have spoken to representatives from the President’s office, and normal procedures for sick Senators are being put in place so that I can have my vote on different bills officially counted and recorded in the Senate Hansard.
“The important thing is I’ll still be able to look after the best interests of Tasmanians and put them first.” said Senator Lambie.
