The Liberal Government is committed to improving the safety of Tasmanian roads.

A new roundabout at the junction of Stony Rise Main Road and Middle Road in Devonport will begin this week, with works ramping up over the next fortnight.

Funded by the State Government, the $1.2 million project is being managed by the Devonport City Council.

We believe the new roundabout will make the junction safer for all road users and reduce the likelihood of crashes.

Motorists are urged to be patient while the road works are underway, and to obey any speed limit reductions.

It is expected that there will not be any major effects on traffic until March, but motorists should factor in possible delays in their travelling times throughout.

Resealing works are also scheduled for Stony Rise Main Road at Spreyton during mid-February, weather permitting.
