The Liberal Government is a strong supporter of providing improved care for people with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) conditions, including Asperger’s Syndrome.
Today is International Asperger’s Day, an important occasion to celebrate the achievements of individuals living with Asperger’s and also an opportunity to raise awareness of the syndrome.
The prevalence of ASD conditions has increased dramatically in recent years, making it the fastest growing disability.
This is why the Liberal Government committed $1 million to develop a long-term strategy for improved care for people with ASD and has established an Autism Advisory Panel.
The work being undertaken by the panel will help to put Tasmania at the forefront of autism support nationally.
