The world’s spotlight is again shining on Tasmania with the Federal Group’s Saffire Freycinet being crowned the best boutique hotel in the world.
The luxury resort on Tasmania’s East Coast won the title at the World Boutique Hotel Awards at a ceremony in London overnight.
This is a fitting award for a passionate family company that has created an unforgettable experience, inspired by our natural environment, and deserving of world acclaim.
Since opening in 2010 Saffire has forged an international reputation for giving travellers a unique escape to the shores of Great Oyster Bay, complemented by Tasmania’s fresh produce and finest wines and beers.
This is the latest in a string of global recognition for our state’s tourism industry, with the Lonely Planet earlier this month naming Tasmania the fourth best region in the world to visit in 2015.
The spotlight will continue to shine on our island home when we host Restaurant Australia’s Invite the World to Dinner on Friday and the Chinese President next week.
Events and our dedicated and professional industry will without doubt help the Liberal Government to reach our target of attracting 1.5 million visitors to our state every year by 2020.
