Following recent changes in the Glamorgan Spring Bay Council elections, the Orford /Triabunna Chamber of Commercehas elected a new President and several new officers at its recent election.
The incoming President Denis Bignold said, “He felt a change of direction was in the wind for the area”.
He added,“Based on recent voting it would seem that our members, and residents of the area, are eager for a business-like approach to the futureand we are eager to attract investment and increase the job prospects in the area. I am looking forward to working with our new Mayor Michael Kent, a very experienced businessmen, other council members, as well as local business to continuing to develop opportunities in Orford and Triabunna”.
Long-time resident, President Denis Bignold has extensive business experience in Australia and internationally. He has also provided volunteer public service in several states as a CFA officer and Scout Master. He was Vice President of the OTCC for a total of ten years and is Chairman of the Reserve Forces Day Council for Tasmania.
Vice President Mick Fama, a retired Police Officer, has lived and worked in the area for many years and served as a local councillor. Local resident and businessman, Treasurer Tony Wright, has served as CEO of the Royal Guide Dogs for the Blind Association of Tasmania.
