The Liberal Government is committed to ensuring our heritage assets are appropriately protected and celebrated.

Advertisements will appear in Tasmanian newspapers tomorrow for a chairperson to lead the Tasmanian Heritage Council from 2015.

The outgoing Chairperson, historian Dr Dianne Snowden, is completing her three year appointment leading the Tasmanian Heritage Council at the end of this year.

The Government acknowledges the significant contribution Dr Snowden has made to heritage in Tasmania over the past three years, and thank her for her service and commitment to the community.

The new Chairperson will help to guide the Tasmanian Heritage Council to meet its obligations under the Historic Cultural Heritage Act 1995, work effectively with property owners, reflect the views of the wider community, and facilitate the development and use of our heritage.

Advertisements will appear in the public notice sections of Tasmania’s newspapers tomorrow. Expressions of Interest for the position need to be lodged by 5.00pm on Friday, 12 December 2014.
