West Coast projects welcomed but Federal Libs still missing
Shadow Tourism Minister Scott Bacon has welcomed the projects earmarked for the West Coast but called on the Liberal Government to do more.
“The region needs all the economic help it can get and Labor supports the six projects funded by the Government, they are consistent with a long list of suggestions we put forward in July,” Mr Bacon said.
“This is a modest response from the State Government but still shows up the Federal Liberals who have done absolutely nothing.
“Brett Whiteley has shown he is simply not interested in doing the work required to support the people of the West Coast.
“It should only be the start of the Government’s plans to create jobs on the West Coast, and in isolation the funding commitment is woefully inadequate.
“The State Government now needs to show urgency after taking more than three months to respond to the closure of two of the region’s biggest employers.”
