Safe Farms, Healthy Farmers – 10th annual national FarmSafe conference opens in Launceston

Posted on

As a part of WorkSafe Tasmania Month, Proactive Agricultural Safety Systems (PASS) is teaming up
with FarmSafe to present the tenth national farm health and safety conference – Safe Farms,
Healthy Farmers.

Running over two days, the conference will invite all members of the farming industry across
Australia to revisit and learn new techniques in farm safety, covering topics such as quad bike safety,
emergency planning, noise exposure and suicide prevention.

FarmSafe Conference Committee spokesperson, Tony Lower, believes all farm fatalities can be
avoided.

“Farms are at the heart of many rural communities and it is our mission to empower farms with the
skills they need to operate safely,” Mr Lower said.

“The conference will allow us to provide participants with life-saving skills they can take back to their
own workplaces.”
