New Hydro Chair Appointed
A new Chair of Hydro Tasmania has been appointed to lead the state-owned electricity generator.
I am very pleased to announce that Grant Every-Burns has been appointed to the position.
Mr Every-Burns has been a non-executive Director of Hydro Tasmania for the past two years. He has over 40 years’ experience in the energy industry, including 15 years as Chief Executive Officer of Macquarie Generation.
“I am looking forward to becoming Chairman of Hydro Tasmania at the very time that the Corporation celebrates 100 years of service to the people of Tasmania,” Mr Every-Burns said.
“Our close association with Tasmania will continue as we face a challenging period ahead. I am confident that prudent management focussed on Hydro’s core strengths will build the reputation and performance of the business into the future.”
The Government is delighted to have someone of Mr Every-Burns’ knowledge and experience to lead the Hydro through the next phase in their history.
On behalf of the State Government I thank outgoing Chairman Dr David Crean for his significant contribution to Hydro Tasmania.
