Liberals abandon four-lane Midland Highway promise
Labor’s Shadow Infrastructure Minister, Craig Farrell, today accused the Liberal Government of running away from its election promise to build a four-lane Midland Highway.
“It is clear the Liberals now have absolutely no intention of sticking to their commitment,” Mr Farrell said.
“Where have the Liberals’ huge roadside banners gone that promised a four-lane Midland Highway?
“Now Rene Hidding is only talking about ‘long term plans’ and ‘staged upgrades’ which is nothing more than a continuation of work already being done.
“It is a far cry for the Liberals’ election promise.
“Mr Hidding is backing away from a four-lane Midland Highway at a million miles an hour.
“All the hype the Liberals created around the four-lane highway was nothing more than a con.
“The Liberals never had any intention of delivering on their promise.”
