Liberal Government should oppose superannuation changes

Posted on

The Shadow Minister for Small Business, Madeleine Ogilvie, has called on the State Government to fight for a good deal for Tasmanians when it comes to superannuation.

“The proposed changes to the reporting requirements of employee superannuation entitlements are a backward step,” Ms Ogilvie said.

“Removing the requirement that superannuation payments be identified on pay slips will make it harder for employees to see if they are being paid properly.

“The Federal Government needs to stop tinkering with superannuation reporting.

“Businesses who are doing the right thing and care about their staff will lose the benefit of this line item in their communications with employees.

“Will Hodgman needs to fight for the entitlements of Tasmanian workers.”
