HealthPathways Launch

Posted on

President of the Senate, Senator the Hon. Stephen Parry will be the key Federal Government speaker at the official launch of Tasmanian HealthPathways.

Senator Parry, having a long history of advocating for better health outcomes for Tasmanians, will be representing the Federal Minister for Health, The Hon. Peter Dutton MP.

“This advance in technology and the collaborative approach taken by medical professionals across the State will assist GPs and other primary health care providers to better treat patients”, said Senator Parry.

Tasmanian HealthPathways is a collaboration between Tasmania Medicare Local, the three Tasmanian Health Organisations (THOs) and the Tasmanian Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS).

HealthPathways aims to result in a smoother more connected care journey for Tasmanians. It is designed to ensure more people get the right treatment or specialist care in the right place at the right time, with less waiting time.

The project is funded by the Australian Government under the Tasmanian Health Assistance Package.
