Federal Police Decision on Hobart Airport
The Tasmanian Government is disappointed with the decision of the Australian Federal Police (AFP) not to reverse its decision to withdraw officers from the Hobart International Airport.
We did ask the AFP to review its decision, and we remain of the opinion that it is appropriate that it have officers based at the State’s major airport.
We do note that the AFP has committed to reviewing its position should intelligence suggest a heightened risk.
The Government also notes that Tasmania Police is confident it can police the airport.
