Emails show prison jobs offered to Pathway Planners
Emails from the Department of Education confirm ousted Pathway Planners are being offered jobs at Risdon Prison rehabilitating sex offenders.
Shadow Education Minister Michelle O’Byrne says it’s a highly inappropriate offer to put to Pathway Planners.
“To sack Pathway Planners and then offer them work rehabilitating sex offenders is totally unsuitable,” Ms O’Byrne said.
“In Parliament the Education Minister denied these offers had been made, but he’s been contradicted by internal Government emails spelling out the proposal in black and white.
“The emails make a lie of Jeremy Rockliff’s response and he’s clearly been caught out.
“This Government has treated Pathway Planners with contempt.
“Its short sighted approach has been widely condemned by the future leaders of Tasmania.
“Staff from the Guaranteeing Futures program deserve to be treated with a greater level of respect by Mr Rockliff.”
