Business Confidence through the roof

Posted on

The Liberal Government has a long-term Plan for Tasmania and we are already seeing the positive effects.

Today’s NAB Monthly Business Survey for September reveals that business confidence is through the roof under the Liberal Government.

Compared to last month, it has risen from 3 points to 18 points. It is now by far the highest in the country and twice the rate of confidence of the next highest state.

However, there is a long way to go, and it’s important to note that this reflects the fragile recovery we are seeing in the Tasmanian economy.

We are growing the economy to create jobs through initiatives including a payroll tax rebate, the First Home Builder Boost, a regional revival fund and a Job Creation Package.

Since winning Government in March, the unemployment rate is down, more Tasmanians are in jobs and building approvals, retail trade and construction work have all increased.

These are encouraging signs for the Tasmanian economy, but we know there is still work to done and we are getting on with the job to make Tasmania the place to live, work and invest.
