New Shared Pathway to Connect Clarence
Work has been completed on a new pathway that improves access near the Tasman Bridge for cyclists and pedestrians.
The total cost of the project for both stages was $630,000 with funding provided by the State Government and the Clarence City Council.
The project commenced in 2013 with concrete shared pathways constructed from near the Rose Bay High School overpass structure to Nimrin Street and then to Conara Road.
The recent construction works have completed the final section between Conara Road and Riawena Road, forming a continuous shared concrete pathway on the eastern approach to the Bridge.
The new shared pathway helps form a part of the Principal Urban Cycle Network, which has been developed through a consultative process.
This project is a great example of two tiers of government working collaboratively to deliver better infrastructure for the community.
I thank Mayor Doug Chipman for his leadership in his community and in helping to deliver this project.
