Libs have no answers on spending, resort to playing the man

Posted on

The Liberal Government has resorted to playing the man to avoid scrutiny of its own budget spending.

DSG Minister Matthew Groom has continued to stonewall basic budget questions.

Labor Leader Bryan Green asked simple questions about the as-yet unfilled position of Co-ordinator General.
– How much will the Coordinator General be paid?
– How many of the 11 staff will actually be based in Launceston?
– What consultation was undertaken with the business community?

“Labor has no issue with the office being located in Launceston but the Government has been unable to answer even the most basic of questions,” Labor Leader Bryan Green said.

“By any measurement these are reasonable questions as Labor scrutinises the Budget but Mr Groom claimed he ‘didn’t know’ any of the answers.

“Six months after the election the Liberals need to back up their policy thought bubbles with detail and costings.

“Mr Groom is clearly embarrassed by his own performance and has resorted to personal attacks.”
