Liberals turn Budget Estimates hearing into a farce
Liberal Ministers are refusing to answer questions in Budget Estimates hearings to avoid detailing who will be sacked because of the Government’s budget cuts.
Labor Leader Bryan Green said the Liberals had embarked on a deliberate strategy to avoid scrutiny this week.
“Will Hodgman and all his Ministers have turned not answering questions into an art form,” Mr Green said.
“The Liberals have made the Budget Estimates a farce.
“Mr Hodgman even tried to use today’s hearings to restrict Right to Information requests.
“The Liberals are not being honest and up front with Tasmanians.
“Just as we have seen so far through the Estimates process, far from being a transparent Government, it is being evasive and trying to control the flow of information.”
