Liberals inciting war over forestry

Posted on

Labor Leader Bryan Green said today the Liberal Government was more intent on inciting war in Tasmania’s forests than getting on with the job of securing the industry’s future.

“The Liberals promised so much as a majority government but have done no more than maintain the status quo in the forest industry,” Mr Green said.

Mr Harriss could have made massive changes to the forest industry but the truth is he hasn’t.

“He has delivered nothing because there is not one additional log available to the industry and the challenges it faces are ever present.

“The Liberals are showing no leadership and despite all their talk and the stunts, their approach to forestry is basically the same as Labor’s.

“Instead of getting on with the job, Mr Harriss proved again today he is only interested in doing all he can to promote conflict and division in Tasmania communities.

“That is not leadership, it is not acting in the best interests of the forest industry and it is certainly not the best way forward for Tasmania.
