Diving into Tourism Potential

Posted on

The Liberal Government is delivering on its election promises.

In the 12 months to March a record 1.06 million visitors travelled to our state. We have a target of attracting 1.5 million visitors per year by 2020, which is why we are boosting tourism spending. New products will help us achieve our target.

A $50,000 grant will be provided for a feasibility study as a first step in potentially securing the HMAS Tobruk, upon its decommissioning, as a dive wreck attraction for the East Coast.
The potential dive site will be situated at Boat Harbour Point at Binalong Bay.

This is an exciting prospect for the region, which can continue to build on its already strong reputation and offer new tourism options.

The Liberal Government is investing in regional communities, growing jobs and boosting the tourism industry.
