Biochar! Don’t miss this …

Posted on

Kathleen Draper will be the guest speaker at a public meeting organised by TAP Into a Better Tasmania on Tuesday September 9. The meeting will be held at the Windsor Community Centre, Riverside at 7.30 pm.

Ms Draper is the Chair of the Center for Sustainable Living in Finger Lakes, New York , and the proprietor of Finger Lakes Biochar.

Spokesman for TAP, Tim Thorne, said that the development of a biochar industry in Tasmania would provide a much better and longer term use for timber waste than paper pulp, and would have added benefits for agriculture, the wine industry and in many other areas.

“TAP has always looked for positive alternatives to the worn-out industrial models represented by giant pulp mills,” Mr Thorne said.
