Background:
Kate Fitzpatrick has completed qualifications including a Cert 3 and 4 in Fitness, Diplomas in Frontline Management, Youth Work & Community Development and Small Business Management.
At 19, Kate was the youngest person ever elected to Australian local government as an Alderman in Tasmania. Kate derived youth participation policies, affordable housing strategies and community development initiatives. As one of Tasmania’s leading gay activists, Kate was part of a team who delivered “Pride and Prejudice”, a program combating homophobia in high schools.
Kate is currently involved with lesbian social groups, volunteering alongside the Lesbian Health Action Group, Sunshine Coast Rainbow Network and the Gay and Lesbian Business Network .
In 2013, after a decade of working with disadvantaged youth, homeless, low income families and the LGBTIQ community, Kate created PinkFitz in an effort to combat issues facing the community.
