Volunteering Tasmania scholarships announced
Volunteering Tasmania are offering six scholarships to the 2014 IAVE Conference on the Gold Coast in September.
Four registrations to the IAVE Conference (valued at $950 each) and two registrations to the IAVE Youth Conference (valued at $634 each) will be made available to Tasmanian volunteers and managers of volunteers.
The youth scholarships are open to the public, with the general scholarships open to members of Volunteering Tasmania only.
“This is a wonderful opportunity for Tasmanian volunteers and managers of volunteers to attend this standout conference,” said Adrienne Picone, CEO of Volunteering Tasmania.
“The conference itself is set to provide amazing learning opportunities and value to participants, and we are thrilled to be able to distribute these scholarships, which will ease the financial pressure of registration costs on organisations,” she said. The Youth Conference will welcome up to 600 delegates aged between 16 and 30 years, and will precede the 23rd IAVE World Volunteer Conference on the Gold Coast in Queensland from September 15 – 17, 2014.
The Youth Conference will focus on the future of volunteering, the importance of youth participation, and ways to move forward in the digital age. With exemplary keynote speakers, interactive forums and volunteer placement activities included in the action packed event, the Youth Conference promises to create global communication.
The World Volunteer Conference will take place from September 17 – 20, 2014 at the Gold Coast Convention and Exhibition Centre. With the theme ‘Volunteering – Today’s Imperative’, the Conference will focus on not only the feel good aspects of volunteering but importantly the future of volunteering. Scholarship applications are now open, and will close next Tuesday 12 August.
