Red-faced Ferguson pays back $776 luxury taxi fare
Labor Leader Bryan Green said Health Minister Michael Ferguson only paid back the $776 he used for luxury taxi services because he was found out.
“Mr Ferguson has finally admitted his guilt, four months after he incurred a massive bill hiring a luxury taxi to get to a press conference,” Mr Green said.
“No one will believe he paid the money back voluntarily as he claims because when he was sprung he would not accept he had done anything wrong.
“The Premier knows it is a terrible look for the Government but it runs much deeper than that, it goes to a matter of trust.
“Mr Ferguson has shown a serious lack of judgement and an abuse of his position.
“Mr Ferguson has paid the money back as we insisted he should, but he expressed no regret for wasting almost $800 of taxpayers’ money.
“In question time today Mr Ferguson took no responsibility for what he did and instead blamed the Department of Premier and Cabinet.
“It is a damning admission and an extraordinary show of arrogance.”
