Anna Reynolds joins new generation of candidates in Council race

Posted on

Anna Reynolds has announced she is running for election to Hobart City Council this October.

Anna made her announcement in time to appear at a New Candidates Forum being held in Hobart tonight. The forum at Dr Syntax is organised by Alderman Bill Harvey, and gives a platform to a new generation of first-time candidates standing for local government.

Anna Reynolds said that this year’s election is a crucial one, with people voting for a team to lead the city for the next four years.

“There’s lots of choice for voters this October. It’s time for some fresh ideas and new faces on our Council team, and I hope to be one of them.”

“Hobart is changing – I feel a buzz of optimism, and not just here. People around the world are talking about the beautiful, historic, creative and down-to-earth city we call home.”

“But with change comes challenges, that need clever and forward-thinking leadership to make the most of our opportunities. What Hobart needs right now is a progressive, imaginative local Council.”

“I’m enthusiastic about helping people to create positive change, with innovative ideas and fresh approaches to solving problems.”

Anna is currently the CEO of the Multicultural Council of Tasmania. Previously, she was the International Advisor to the Parliamentary leader of the Greens. She has twenty years experience in leading national and international community organisations and developing policy solutions. She was the Greens candidate for the federal seat of Denison in 2013.
