Wayne Johnston re-elected TFGA president
Meander farmer Wayne Johnston tonight was re-elected president of the Tasmanian Farmers and Graziers Association.
It gives him a second one-year term after succeeding David Gatenby last year.
At the TFGA annual general meeting held at the Country Club in Launceston, north-east dairy farmer Alan Davonport was r-elected vice-president.
The retiring director for the 62 telephone district Noel Beven was replaced by his nephew, Andrew Beven.
Noel Beven, one of the founders of Agfest, had served the maximum allowed of three three-year terms.
Andrew Beven, also from Campania, is the vice chairman position of the Coal River Products Group and has been actively involved in representing the area’s farmers in negotiations on the next stage of the South East irrigation scheme.
Mike Badcock and Greg Bradfield were unopposed for the 64 and 63 telephone district board positions.
