Michael Ferguson, Adam Brooks: Digital Ready for Retail Launch
The Liberal Government is backing Tasmanian businesses to grow the economy and create jobs.
This evening we are launching another of our election commitments to support business in this state – an $800,000 boost to the Digital Ready for Retail program.
Minister for Information Technology & Innovation, Michael Ferguson, said that helping Tasmanian retail businesses to become digital-savvy is one of the best investments the Government can make in the small business sector.
“The enhanced and refocussed Digital Ready for Retail program will target Tasmanian retail businesses that want to understand or find out more about operating online.
“The new format will provide Tasmanian retailers and the wider small business community with the tools and information they need to make the most of online services.”
Parliamentary Secretary for Small Business & Trade, Adam Brooks, said small business already employs more than 105,000 Tasmanians and the Government’s expansion of Digital Ready for Retail would help to grow this number further.
“Our investment of $800,000 over four years for Digital Ready for Retail will support hundreds of businesses to utilise the latest technology and access customers around the world through online sales.
“Job creation is a top priority for the Liberal Government and we are backing businesses to deliver more jobs for Tasmanians.”
Tonight’s launch includes a presentation on cloud services, one of the key online areas businesses can tap into to improve their productivity, efficiency and customer experience.
