It’s time your business took a risk!
WorkSafe Tasmania is asking Tasmanian businesses to only take one risk this year and that’s to enter
the 2014 WorkSafe Tasmania Awards.
WorkSafe Tasmania General Manager Martin Shirley said the WorkSafe Awards recognised the
important work that both individuals and organisations undertook to make work health and safety a
top priority in Tasmanian workplaces.
“While the number of workplace injuries continue to decline—a total of 8,123 workers were still
injured in Tasmanian workplaces in 2013 compared with 8,934 in 2012—which is why it’s important
to recognise and reward those organisations that have implemented innovative health and safety
programs and made safety a number one priority,” Mr Shirley said.
“If you have reduced the risk in your workplace by introducing initiatives to make a healthier and
safer working environment, we think your efforts should be rewarded.
“As well as the accolades you will receive for winning, a WorkSafe Award can also boost employee
morale, assist with attracting quality staff and help develop a more positive workplace culture.
“So whether you are Tasmania’s smallest or largest company, if you have created an innovative
solution to a safety problem, or developed a program to create a healthier and happier workplace,
then the WorkSafe Awards are a great opportunity to have your efforts recognised and rewarded.”
