DEC: Australia’s No. 1 Craft & Quilt Fair, July 25-27

Expertise Events runs Australia’s No. 1 Craft & Quilt Fair. It has been running annually in Tasmania since 2001 and will be held at the Derwent Entertainment Centre on July 25 -27 this year.

Some of the highlights of the fair this year include:

• Guest artist Meredith Scott will demonstrate her spectacular mosaic art using glass, shells, tiles, recycled materials – even broken car windshields – and found objects.
• Christmas in July at the fair: Get ready for the real thing in December. This area will be decorated with festive flair and there’ll be free Christmas craft demonstrations.
• Island Quilts 2014 is the Tasmanian Quilt Guild’s annual exhibition – a must-see display of gorgeous quilts which will lift your spirits – even if you’re not a quilter!
• Art on Legs presents a showcase of their wearable art designers.
• The AQC Challenge Quilts with the theme of TEN. 30 finalists will be on show.
• A full workshop program including card making, scrapbooking, jewellery making, dyeing, embroidery, sewing and quilting.
• Exhibitors selling hard-to-find supplies: glow in the dark knitting yarn, new stamp designs, dyes, the latest great gadgets, vintage teddy bear patterns, fabrics and much more.
