Bryan Green: Mt Lindsay mining news welcomed
Labor Leader Bryan Green has welcomed the approval of Venture Minerals’ Mt Lindsay mining lease.
“The former Government worked closely with Venture Minerals on this project, as well as the Riley iron ore mine,” Mr Green said.
“Labor welcomes this approval – it is good news for Tasmania and particularly the North-West.
“The Government must continue to work with Venture through the environmental approvals process to make sure this project goes ahead and creates jobs.
“Labor will continue to welcome good news for the state and will not talk down the economy from opposition.
“The Hodgman Government’s next priority must be Mancala’s Burns Peak project.
“Paul Harriss must stand up to the Abbott Government, which is holding up Mancala’s project when environment groups have effectively given it the green light.
“That project is not wrapped in red and green tape, it’s tied up in blue Liberal tape.”
