Matthew Groom: Confidence grows in Tasmania
The Liberal Government has a long term plan to rebuild Tasmania and create jobs after the damage caused during the destructive Labor-Green years.
Confidence in the State is returning.
According to ABS figures released today, in the year to April 2014, the total value of Tasmanian building approvals was $1.2 billion.
Building approvals were up 5.3% in April 2014 and are 32% higher than they were 12 months ago.
This is the highest level building approvals have been in three years.
It is a positive sign for the construction industry and jobs going forward as the building approvals turn into building projects.
The Liberal Government’s policies such as the two year waiver of water and sewerage headwork charge, the local benefits test for government tender, the reform of planning schemes, and a reduction in red and green tape will help to continue this positive trend in growing Tasmania’s economy.
