Scott Bacon: Welcoming Hobart hotel investment
Shadow Tourism Minister Scott Bacon today welcomed the announcement from Federal Hotels and Vos Group to build a hotel complex at Hobart’s Macquarie No. 1 Shed.
“This further highlights how far tourism has come in Tasmania,” Mr Bacon said.
“This development will only further enhance Tasmania’s growing worldwide tourism reputation.
“The luxury tourism sector continues to grow on the back of hotels such as Saffire at Coles Bay, the Henry Jones Art Hotel in Hobart and other projects established under the previous Labor Government.
“The restaurant and bar complex will showcase local food and drink producers, industries that are becoming more and more important to attracting visitors.”
