Paul Harriss: D-Day for Labor on Forestry
The Liberal Government is getting on with the job of delivering our long-term Plan to grow the economy and create jobs.
This week in Parliament is D-Day for Labor on forestry, with the Tasmanian Forest Agreement repeal bill to be brought on for debate on Wednesday.
Are Labor with us and the people of Tasmania who voted to tear up the job-destroying forest deal, or are they still with the Greens?
Since their election defeat Labor has done nothing but whinge and whine, without putting forward a single constructive idea.
They continue to stand by every single policy they took to the election, and continue to oppose every single policy of ours, despite the election drubbing they received.
It’s reported in today’s Mercury that Labor’s own damning review of their election campaign found their support for the job-destroying forest deal “poisoned the Labor brand in timber communities.”*
Bryan Green could do well to heed that advice.
Accept the will of the Tasmanian people Mr. Green, get out of out of the way, and declare your support for our bill to rebuild the forestry industry.
