Michael Ferguson: Elective surgery continuing
Elective surgery has not ceased at Royal Hobart Hospital.
The Royal Hobart Hospital is working on the planned schedule for surgery as dictated in its 2013-14 Service Agreement – directed and budgeted for by the previous Labor-Green Government.
A new Service Agreement will be signed for 2014-15 prior to 1 July 2014, with an increased level of surgery in line with the new Government’s commitment of an additional $76 million over four years.
This will occur regardless of when the Budget is announced or debated.
