Jeremy Rockliff: Labor Backflip

Posted on

Opposition Leader Bryan Green needs to come clean on where he stands on the sale of the Aurora customer list.

Last year he and his Labor colleagues supported the sale of the list.

Now he is saying he is opposed to our decision to sign up to the Federal plan which will see Tasmanian taxpayers receive from the Commonwealth an additional 15 per-cent premium on the sale.

Bryan Green needs to answer why it was ok to support the sale last year, but now when the Liberal Government has agreed to a deal which will see a 15 per cent bonus on sale, Labor is against it.

Labor is fiscally incompetent.

Labor would rather look a gift-horse in the mouth than support an agreement which will benefit Tasmania.

We went to the election with a commitment not to sell assets, with the exception of the Aurora list which at the time had bipartisan support.

We will keep our promise. Labor has broken its promise.
