Healthy lifestyle co-ordinated plan
The Liberal plan to make Tasmania the healthiest state by 2025 was vision in action said State Liberal Candidate for Lyons Guy Barnett today.
“The co-ordinated approach outlined by the Liberals is in stark contrast to the fragmented and ad-hoc approach of the Labor/Green government, he said.
Mr Barnett said Tasmania had the highest smoking rates in Australia and had the highest rates of obesity, type 2 diabetes and heart disease in Australia.
“It is vitally important that Tasmania has a co-ordinated plan aimed at getting all residents more active and healthy,” he concluded
Mr Barnett is Ambassador for Diabetes Australia and has been a long campaigner for healthier lifestyles.
