Spotted at Port Huon on the Tasmanian House of Assembly (lower house) election day:
We thought Huon Valley’s mayor had severed his ties with TPR long ago. Or is this simply an unfortunate juxtaposition of real-estate and political advertising! There certainly is something endearingly ingenuous about it. Mayor Robert Armstrong is, in fact, bidding for a seat in the State Parliament’s antediluvian Legislative Council (upper house), the election for which is to be held in May. The photograph was taken on Saturday afternoon, March 15, the day on which voters went to the polls to elect the House of Assembly (lower house). Voters could be forgiven for being confused about what Armstrong is seeking election to. For the uninformed, ‘Huon” is one of the LegCo’s electorates.
