A commitment from the Tasmanian Liberal Party
The ParaQuad Association of Tasmania Inc. (ParaQuad Tas) is very pleased to announce a commitment from the Tasmanian Liberal Party to fund significant activities of Physical disABILITY Sports Tasmania (PdST) should they form government in the upcoming state election.
Physical disABILITY Sports Tasmania’s mission statement is “To provide people with a physical disability the opportunity to participate in sport at a social, national or international level”. We support individuals in their endeavours to be involved in and compete in a sport or recreational activity of their choice to ensure they have full engagement in the Tasmanian community.
Recurrent funding for our organisation has been sought after, and the Liberal Party’s commitment, should they form government, will give us the confidence to commit to and proceed with future initiatives and activities. ParaQuad Tas has funded the program since 2006 and will continue to administer PdST as we can see a very bright future ahead for people, who have a physical disability, to participate at the level of their choice.
Our Sports Coordinator Mr Kevin Faulkner is passionate to see people with physical disabilities of all ages involved in sport and recreation. Physical disABILITY Sports Tasmania has changed the lives of many individuals in recent years, many of whom never imagined they could even play sport, let alone win medals at national championships. Kevin recently made the statement “These are life changing activities and events they will cherish and remember their entire lives”.
ParaQuad Tas’s Chairman David Cawthorn stated “This commitment for recurrent funding is recognition of the great work done by our disability sports body”.
