Ashgrove given the all-clear to restart cheese production
Ashgrove Cheese has been given the green light from the Tasmanian Dairy Industry Authority to
restart production, following further test results which did not detect any Listeria in the Ashgrove
factory, its products or its packing lines.
Rigorous testing has been carried out after Ashgrove recalled several products from one batch of its
bush pepper cheese when routine tests found traces of Listeria monocytogenes.
Ashgrove General Manager Richard Bennett said it was an isolated incident and none of the
company’s other products had been affected.
“The delivery of the highest quality products is our number one priority at Ashgrove and we take this
incident extremely seriously,” Mr Bennett said.
“We thank our loyal customers for their support and apologise again to our customers and the
public for any inconvenience caused.”
Ashgrove Cheese is an award-winning, Tasmanian-owned family business based in Elizabeth Town in
the State’s north.
