Health Report response
The Tasmanian Greens Health spokesperson Paul ‘Basil’ O’Halloran MP today responded to the latest DHHS health progress report, again calling for fundamental structural reform of the health funding model.
“These problems will never go away until we address the fundamental structural issues plaguing our health system.”
“Experts agree a single funder health model is the only way to go, so the Greens are again calling on the Minister to push for Tasmania to lead a national pilot.”
“It’s great to see a bit of good news for north-west Tasmania, with an improvement in elective surgery waiting times.”
“Our hard working medical professionals and staff at the North West Regional Hospital have a right to feel proud of that result.”
“Unfortunately, waiting times for elective surgery continue to blow out at the Launceston General and Royal Hobart.”
