Good news on energy prices

Posted on

The Tasmanian Greens today welcomed the Energy Regulator’s approval of a 5% electricity price cut next year as fantastic news for job creation and cost of living in Tasmania.

“Electricity prices are skyrocketing in other parts of the country, so this is a fantastic outcome for households and small businesses,” Mr McKim said.

“It is welcome news for electricity customers and it’s happened in large part due to the work of the Greens-driven energy supply expert panel.”

“The Greens made cost of living a central issue of our 2010 election campaign, so we have stood by that commitment throughout this term of government.”

“It’s going to be a great boost for low-income Tasmanians struggling with electricity Bills, and it will be a great shot in the arm for small businesses to invest in job creation.”
“We are committed to working to bring down electricity prices, and we are very pleased to see this decision.”
