Tim Costello in town to talk compassion
The Independent Member for Denison, Andrew Wilkie, is hosting World Vision CEO, the Rev Tim Costello AO, in conversation about “towards a more compassionate Australia.”
WHEN: 7.00pm-8.00pm TOMORROW Monday 29 July
WHERE: Baha’i Centre 1 Tasman Highway Hobart
Mr Wilkie said he was honoured to be hosting the Rev Costello in Hobart.
“Tim Costello is an inspiring figure and a great humanitarian leader,” Mr Wilkie said.
Mr Wilkie said the topic of the event was timely.
“We have seen some real nastiness in the political debate in recent years which I think is a terrible shame,” Mr Wilkie said.
“In the lead up to the federal election we should listen to thought-leaders like Tim Costello about how to inject considerations of compassion and human decency back into the political debate.”
“Tim Costello has had a long career in humanitarian work and has worked tirelessly over a number of years to improve the lives of people both in Australia and overseas.
“His insights are timely and will be of real value. I encourage everyone to take this opportunity to come along and hear Tim Costello’s perspective on the place of compassion in our community.”
Entry to the event will be by gold coin donation to cover event costs. Attendees can RSVP to (03) 6234 5255 or Andrew.Wilkie.MP@aph.gov.au
