Cycling for sight

The Independent Member for Denison, Andrew Wilkie, lowers the flag to signal the departure of blind cyclist Jen Nickols on her 18,000km quest to become the first blind cyclist to ride around Australia.

Ms Nickols is raising money for the Lions Eye Health Program. She will be riding a tandem bicycle.

The departure ceremony commenced at 9.30am TODAY 14 April with a performance from Choral Productions Tasmania (Inc) and a free barbecue hosted by the Lions Club of Hobart; the official departure at 10.45am.
