WILKIE PUSHES PARLIAMENT TO INTERVENE IN TASSIE FREIGHT WOES
The Independent Member for Denison, Andrew Wilkie, gave formal notice to Parliament this afternoon of his intention to introduce a Motion calling for an increase in the Bass Strait Freight Equalisation subsidy to reduce freight inequalities and provide a boost to the Tasmanian economy.
This motion follows Mr Wilkie’s speech to Parliament last Wednesday outlining the case for reform of freight equalisation across Bass Strait. A copy of Mr Wilkie’s speech can be found at:
