Nick McKim: Dunalley Primary School: We’ll rebuild

Posted on

The Minister for Education, Nick McKim, said today the Dunalley Primary School will be rebuilt.

Mr McKim confirmed that the school has been destroyed with the exception of the gymnasium and some outbuildings and alternative arrangements for students will need to be made.

“We are already looking at options for students when Term One begins on 5 February, and this is our first priority, but there are a number of issues that will need to be worked through.

“I will visit Dunalley as soon as possible to assess the situation and talk with the community about their priorities and the options for educating their children in 2013.

“A team has been established to support students and parents and work with them to look at the best options.

“I want to reassure the Dunalley community that we will work closely with them to ensure the new school meets their needs.

“We will communicate closely with all parents about plans for the future.”
