TASSIEVORE CHALLENGE PROMOTES LOCAL, SUSTAINABLE FOOD
The Tasmanian Greens Primary Industries spokesperson Kim Booth MP today congratulated organisers of the Tassievore Eat Local Challenge.
“The Tassievore Challenge is a great way to promote eating locally, reconnect with the local food supply and support Tasmanian producers and businesses,” Mr Booth said.
“The program is coordinated by Sustainable Living Tasmania and supported by a team of innovative, enthusiastic lovers of good living and Tasmanian food.”
“Anyone who wants to eat well and buy local can participate, and all that is required is a commitment to increase consumption of Tasmanian food for six months.”
“By choosing produce that’s local and in season we can significantly reduce the amount of energy that’s required to produce our food.”
“This is a great initiative, and the Greens encourage every Tasmanian to consider taking up the Tassievore Challenge.’
