JUICY ISLE ANNOUNCES EXPANSION PROGRAM IN TASMANIA
COMPANY REPORTS 25% GROWTH WITH PLANS TO INCREASE ORGANIC FOOTPRINT
Tasmania, October 2012: Leading Tasmanian fresh juice company, Juicy Isle, has announced its expansion plans to meet the growing demand of its successful organic juice range.
In 2011, the company increased its organic footprint launching earth juice in Coles. The sister brand of Juicy Isle’s Woolworths’ organic range, this new Coles range places Juicy Isle as the largest producer and distributor of chilled organic juices in Australia today. As part of its expansion program, Juicy Isle has relocated its fruit press to one of its leading fruit suppliers, Raw Organics Orchard in Huonville, giving Juicy Isle the ability to bottle juice within 48 hours of picking and resulting in the provision of the freshest organic juice available to Australian consumers today.
“Over the past 12 months, we’ve increased our workforce by 20% bring our workforce close to 100 and further recruitment forms part of our expansion plans,” comments Michael Cooper, Managing Director of Juicy Isle. “Our enduring strategy is to produce beverages that are better for you, whilst using local raw ingredients from the freshest fruit. We are sourcing 100% of our fruits from Tasmania, including organic apples, blackcurrants and raspberries and consumers are voting with their hearts and wallets. Being 100% Tasmanian owned, we can continue to control every aspect of the product, from sourcing and bottling, to shipping and marketing. This keeps the jobs in Tasmania and continues to support the Tasmanian economy.”
Organic product sales continue to rise in Australia, defying the global market slowdown. “According to the International Federation of Organic Agriculture Movements (IFOAM), the organic sector is the fastest growing agricultural based industry in the world and has globally valued certified organic market sales at an estimated $60 billion dollars, up from $54.9
billion in 2009. We are very much tracking in line with this global growth, seeing valuable increases in every one of our organic product ranges,” concludes Cooper.
Juicy Isle is the largest non-alcoholic beverage producer in Tasmania and the largest supplier of organic chilled juice to Woolworths and Coles in Australia today. Its Hartz bottled water brand is the purest water in the world and continues to grow in both local and mainland distribution. Continuing its mission to reduce carbon footprint, Juicy Isle has recently launched a Oxo – biodegradable bottle for its 600ml Hartz water.
