National Police Remembrance Day
National Police Remembrance Day is a time to commemorate and remember those police officers who have lost their lives in the line of police duty, former Tasmanian police officer, Senator Stephen Parry said.
“Today, I attended the Tasmanian National Police Remembrance Day Service and lay a wreath, on behalf of all senators in the Federal Parliament, honouring those who have passed on,” Senator Parry said.
“Our communities rely on the critical and exceptional work police officers do to make our neighbourhoods safer places to work and live. The work they undertake is often dangerous, confronting and unpredictable and requires great courage each and every day.
“I would like to encourage all Tasmanians to take a moment to remember those brave police officers who have made the ultimate sacrifice whilst protecting our community. I am proud to be part of the community that recognises our fallen police,” Senator Parry concluded.
Senator Parry is a member of the parliamentary joint committee on Law Enforcement and is a former Tasmanian police officer.
