December is often a time for reflection – and we’ve been thinking here about the year almost past and also on the year to come. Like most years in farming, 2011 was a bit like the curate’s egg – good in parts. A very wet start hit some farmers hard – with floods and water damage to crops impacting severely. However, most farmers have found 2011 overall to be a good year. Commodity prices are up, the weather has been relatively kind, and there’s an air of optimism in the agricultural sector.

The team at TFGA worked hard during the year representing the interests of farmers across the state – and there’s been no shortage of issues on our radar screen. Our efforts are only of value, though, when we work with others as part of a team.

So we’d like to take this opportunity to let you know that we sincerely appreciate your continued support and encouragement.

We wish you and yours a safe, happy and relaxing festive season – and we look forward to working with you in 2012.
